Blessing and Delivering the Quilts!
First Crew quilters brought about 40 quilts to the FCUCC sanctuary for blessing before the quilts would be donated to the Rose Haven Day Shelter and Community Center for women, children and families who receive its important services. Rose Haven volunteer Nancy Kurkinen (L) and Bienvenidos Quilts founder Rachel Stevens (R) gave short talks before Pastor Derek Austin blessed the quilts. Quilters in attendance gathered afterwards. After delivering the quilts, Susan Adcock emailed, “I had a wonderful experience this afternoon taking quilts to Rose Haven. I was greeted by staff members [who] had heard all about the quilt blessing from Nancy, who came on Sunday. They think people will be delighted by these quilts!”
